Poetry at St. Clements Hospital

June 2004

From June 2004, we have part-funded poetry workshops with clients experiencing mental health difficulties in the Pinhey Ward at St Clements Hospital, led by the poet David Neita. The workshops have been a resounding success, with 100% service user satisfaction. Staff have described it as one of the ward’s most popular and best attended groups.

“It has provided the patients with a forum for creativity and enabled them to express themselves regardless of their ability. It has given them confidence, improved their cognitive skills and their motivation.” (Staff member, Pinhey Ward)
